Beer festivals with music?

We've been to a couple of beer festivals over the last 4 weeks, firstly
at Masham, N.Yorks last month, then at Hartshill Warks. last night.
A reasonable time was had at both, though the Masham one did go better
for me as I was drunk, and knew all of the songs the band were playing,
so burst into song at any moment, which caused much amusement to the GF
as I am usually quite staid.
Both had reasonable turn-outs, with very few of the upside down head
real ale types moaning that beer A is slightly less 'hoppy' than beer B.

Both had awful music from local bands, which, unsurprisingly, got better
as the night went on.Last nights was a throw-back to the 80's, as it was
organised by Jugsters MCC, a sort of back patch club, without the
    attitude.(see: <http://www.jugstersmcc.co.uk/Committee.html > and you'll
    get the general idea)
A decent enough bunch, but god dont they know it may be a good idea not
to wear leather waistcoats in near 30degree tempertures, and maybe it
may be a good idea to put their false teeth in before they go out for
the night (that is the women, I'm presuming the men dont bother with
falsies as they must live on a liquid diet).

So, to the main point, we chanced upon these 2 events by chance, quite
enjoyed it, so would like to sample a few more before summer is out.

    Any recommendations for any?
Must have music, and preferably in the Midlands, though a night out
could be arranged if something looks good.
    Thanks
    Alan.

  2. As is traditional.
Unfortunately, a lot of the local ones are April/May.

I'll be aiming for Earls Court next Thursday evening, if anyone else is
    thinking of going.

I'll be there Thursday evening from about 7pm.

This will my 14th consecutive year at the GBBF.

[1] I packed up my GBBF commemorative pint glasses at the weekend - 13
of them starting 1995. Sad or what?

I've missed the last few - every year, in mid August, I wonderw when it
is, only to find I've just missed it. So this year I'm being a little
    more proactive.

Pah. I've got glasses from beer festivals I haven't even been to,
courtesy of CAMRA's tombola stalls. I've thrown away a lot of random
beer mats over the years too.

Ogden was only barely of legal drinking age in 1995, so he's not going
to be able to out-sad you on this one.

I got rid of all of the non-attended festival glasses to the charity
shop, along with the glasses from some festivals that I *had* attended.

I only kept the GBBF ones.

It's true. Until I was 18 I only really drank in pubs, clubs and bars,
    not exhibition halls.

Hey - I'm sadder than that! Not only do I have "glasses from beer
festivals I haven't even been to, courtesy of CAMRA's tombola stalls"
but I only *just* stopped myself smashing them all when I fell out
with the chairman of the local CAMRA branch a few years ago and tore
up my membership card in a huff!

He still comes into my local, but he doesn't bother trying to talk to
    me anymore )

My ex smashed at least one too.

Not, I might note, by throwing it at my head - that was mostly
restricted to guitars and jamjars full of screws, iirc.
