I've had siamese cats you know. That look doesn't fool me.

On the subject of cats, the one that landed on the bed last night
managed to find the broken leg to walk all over before settling down.
    How do they manage that?

  2. God, that must be 25 years old now. Back in the days when I was
working on cricket telecasts for the Nein Network.

Can't stand it, or football or pretty much any sport these days. I
think I gt burned out working on live TV sport in the 80s. I rarely
even watch a MotoGP these days.

  3. Me too, can't argue with you there.

Yeah, pretty much the coastal strip and mostly the East Coast. The
interior is spectacular, but I wouldn't want to live there.

We simply don't have enough water here to sustain the population we
have now let alone a larger one.

I'm all for letting genuine refugees in, but if we keep opening the
doors too much, it's going to be us in a diaspora as climate refugees.
Funnily enough, the climate change will probably benefit Tasmania
(which is where I grew up) so I'm just gunna make as much money as I
can here then move back there. Don't tell anyone though. It's a
    secret.

  4. It's a perfectly serious thing to do. I've eaten roo and wallaby
plenty of times. It's a lovely lean meat, slightly gamey, but not
overly so. Roast leg of wallaby is great. And it's sustainable. Yet
any time it is suggested, groups like PETA get all upset. Why don't
they get upset about the poor cute little lambs we eat?

There's shitloads of roos over here, they are nowhere near an
endangered species. And they don't destroy the landscape like the
introduced cows, sheep and camels ( not to mention the rabbits) do.

It was actually illegal to sell roo meat here until a few years ago.
    Insane.

Modern infernal combustion engines will use less fuel if there is methane
in the atmosphere. And they clean up the air too.
As methane is 20 times worse than CO2 as a greenhouse gas,
the more you drive, the more you save the planet.

I'm all for giving refuge. It is only right and decent, within limits.
That doesn't mean residence though and when things change they should go
    home.

Having seen the problems the Prawn diaspora from Indonesia has caused in
Southern Philippines think yourself lucky you are not in the middle of a
    low level civil war.

  10. Google for the Indonesian solution for Australia's refugee situation.
It's a huge issue here at the moment. We have masses of Indonesion
refugees trying to sneak in on rickety boats, similar I believe to the
    African refugees crossing the Med.

If you look at how much coastline we have, there must be bucketloads
managing to get past our feeble coastal patrol, yet 100s are picked up
    every week.

Many of which will be Islamic insurgents just itching to take you back
to that golden (abo) stone age you were dreaming of.

  12. Matey, I wasn't dreaming of it :p

I'm more worried about all those Catholic and Anglican insurgents.
    Many more of them . . .

  13. Happening here. The Arabs have always said they'd take back Al Ándalus
one day. Apparently, they're taking advantage of the recession and taking
over businesses and the like. Also arriving in boatloads on the beaches
and good old Zapatonto just welcomes them in.

Is that some play on his name you just made up, or is it something common
with the locals? If the latter, where does it come from? Tonterías?

  18. Tonto = stupid, hat-stand etc. It's how we disrespectful non-socialists
    refer to Mr. Bean^WZapatero.
