Got the Morini out on the patio in the sun this morning.
This was the before last autumn.

The after, today. Don't look to closely, it's a rebuild for riding not
looking at and 'showing'. Still some tidying and touching up to do.

    It idles!

Gently revving as befits a cold, air-cooled motor.

But beautifully marked. The 250s were tiny and slow. This has a tuned
375 motor. Still slow by your standards but fast enough for B road fun.

It looks and sounds superb Pete. I've always had a soft spot for the
    small Morinis.

    It'll do.

The Classic Dirt Bike show at Telford today was an eye opener when I saw
the prices being asked for SO competition bikes. To think that I had a
pretty original 1979 SWM 250 and a 60's Cheney Triumph, not to mention
the 50's 500 AJS. Looks like it was worth having the 96 YZ motor
rebuilt. Another 5 years and it will be a 'classic'. Good job I've got
all the original bits removed for hill climb duties stored away in the
    shed.

I've been watching ebay for months looking for an oldish, cheapish but
serviceable green laner. It seems they just don't exist; any old shite
seems to go for more than a grand; anything less than that is either a
complete basket case or basically a field bike..

  9. Very true.

And if you do get a decent one, some **** will only nick it.

Underlying form has obviously always been more important to me than
    immediate appearance.
