Bellagio

  1. Must be show season... new model articles!

    http://guzzista.wetpaint.com/page/Moto+Guzzi+Bellagio+940?t=anon has
lotsa pics and links to two impression pieces.

Main thrust being the Bellagio is aimed at the Harley Sportster.
Presumably at the people who aren't welded to The Image! People who
want something that can do some miles and is a little different.

I wonder what the market is for a bike like that.

Somehow I get the idea that Guzzi have one production line, and the
system which ensures the right parts are delivered has either broken or
been switched off, so the parts just arrive in random order.

At the end of the line, a complete motorcycle rolls off, and, if it
looks like an existing model, fine, if it doesn't, some poor bugger has
to dream up a new name.

Mmmm, those spoked wheels look like they will need tubes.

I've seen other pics of it in gloss black with wide gloss white stripe
along the top of the tank and repeated on the top of the mudguards.

Milan International Motorcycle Expo is on this week. Lots of new
releases. Biggus might be interested in the new Monster 696.

  8. If they match the UK price: $16,000. Then add for distance and low sales
volume. They're competing with the Sportster 1200, not the 883, but that
still seems an awful lot of money for something with 55kW and 77N-m.

    How much is a Griso?

No idea on the 8valve. The 4valve should drop when the 8valve turns
up, a 4 valve is now around $20k

  10. But if you look at the rider's stance in the photos in the MCN article
you can see what the bike is about: wide flat bars, slightly rearset
pegs, weight pushed to the front wheel - it's a naked sportsbike, not a
cruiser. Comparing it to a Hogly is ridiculous; you might just as well
claim it performs better than a postie bike.

Comparing it to another V-twin naked sports bike makes better sense to
me, like, oh, I dunno, choosing something completely at random, the Moto
Guzzi 850 Griso. The Bellagio just looks like a Griso that got uglified.
