Totally OT: flipping through old British stock-car programmes from the early 1960's, I came across BEN SPIERS, race number 312, who raced "Senior"/ F1 BriSCA stock-cars between 1965 and 1974, operating out of Evesham, Worcs. Wrestling those overpowered combat cars round 440-yard shale and tarmac ovals under the floodlights with a bunch of "hard men" out for blood was certainly as tough as flying a Yamaha WSB. If anyone reading this recalls, or has parents / grandparents who recall the "golden era" of stock-car racing, have a peep at www.oldstox.com
