I got a good wheel from a scrappy to go with the new braking system I
put on there. I was a bit non plused about the whole thing. However,
good nature and a bit of research won out in the end.

You don't always need to go in guns blazing.

  2. Excellent news - they've probably had to face up to the cost of the
numptiness of the ham-fisted ones before.
Can't you use it as a conversation piece?

  3. Bit of a result, then. Amazing to hear some people actually read the
    complaints these days.

  4. Of course not, but it's useful to have a metaphorical gun in the first
place - ie, to know your rights and how to enforce them and leave them
in no doubt that course is always open.
That's without the dirty stuff - nobody really wants that.

Guess so, it was all very nice and civilised.
    With other geeks maybe?

    Do you think they will?

If you do then you need to get off that cloud and come back to
reality. I'll be surprised if they don't look a bit sad, apologise and
offer to pay for the disc. If he claims for a hire bike (and produces
receipts) they'll wait until it's about to go to court and then
    settle.

Got the disk through the post today, 4 days from Germany isn't bad.
Fitted it after picking up my cheque and some new pads from the shop.
Fitting was a 15 minute job, as the old one had only been on a couple of
    weeks.

    I'm now a happy person.
