Oh, they're making a film of it.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beowulf

"The most common English pronunciation is IPA: /?be??w?lf/, but the
"e-o" in Be-owulf was a diphthong, and a more authentic pronunciation
would be with two syllables and the stress on the first (IPA:
    [?be?o?wulf])."

    I say Bay-oh-wolf, but unless you're a gen-yoo-wine 8th century
    Anglo-Saxon, who cares?

    <insert Grendel-related mother-in-law gag>

ISIHAC. Since The Great Vowel Shift, the question is irrelevant, anyway.

  11. Well - from the trailer I saw I think "making a film with the same name
as it" might be more appropriate.
Well quite. Not many of them around to correct the pronounciation eh?

I've just read that, and to be honest, I'm not much more in favour of
going to see it - it sounds hilarious.
hey, I bet Lady Nina can tell you all about them.

    My thoughts exactly.

It'll appeal to the LARPers, comic readers and Pratchett fans though,
    I'm sure.

  18. Well - I come into one of those categories (and close to a 2nd - D&D is
sort-of-close to LARP) and it doesn't appeal to me at all..

Now if it was done in Old English (with subtitles) in a realistic way
(for Old Saxon Saga version of realistic of course - I'm not sure
trolls figure highly in most versions of reality) I'd be much more
    interested..

    Hidden Troll, Sleeping Monster stylee.

Possibly, but Gaiman is a far superior story teller than Pratchett, if
your into a few loose fucks, a bit of homo erotic sex, and some just
    plain weird stuff of course.

What was the Smoke and Mirrors story where a bloke get shagged for his
    memories?
