Glad I got mine resoled (after 7 years (ab)use). I was also able to return
to the factory and have them "fixed" when the leather was too hard on the
heel.

 

I think someone local to the factory could get into a good sideline in
supply "on" demand

 

What is your problem with lack of evidence of the quality of the boots ?
There are a lot of people who can demonstrate the quality to you.

It is the delivery times that are, as far as I am aware, the issue people
have.

 

I don't recall the quality of the boots ever being an issue[1], for
those that arrived and fitted.

I do recall stated delivery times assuming all the credibility of a post
from Des and subsequent response from Altberg being very much of the
"take it or leave it" type.



[1] Although tales slowly emerging from customers often tell of sending
back for minor adjustments, which could be used to argue a basic lack of
build quality.

 

Well, no matter how many times I read your para above, it seems to imply
it is a qualtiy issue and not a delivery.

It is not meant to, explicitly but... is delivery not a part of the
whole quality deal? Where quality is a value that should be applied to
the whole customer interaction bit.

Good question even if it is one of those that could sit comfortably
alongside "there is more violence on the streets these days". I say yes
and good on them.

Product and delivery are 2 separate things IMO, but yes they can be
bundeled together
