Indeed - it was the captions that amused me.

  3. No. He tried a sock puppet or two, which made things worse.

He tried introducing a girlfriend, I think, who turned out to be his
    probation officer. Or something.

He tried introducing his wife who threastened legal action. Or that was
    another sock puppet.

He dug as deep a hole as he could and when he ran out of spades, he
    hired a JCB.

    Classic.

One or two people pointed out, in fairness, that a lot of 15 year-old
girls can easily look 'old enough', which I think was fair comment, but
all his protestations came back to the fact that he was a spammer with
illegal gambling sites and he'd been nicked for bonking an under-age
girl, and if he hadn't tried spamming the board, he wouldn't have
dropped himself in it. Which I think was equally fair comment.

    Try Googling "sitkowned".

And see the draft UD entry halfway down this page:

  5. Yep. I don't often donate to many sites but for a measly five bucks it
would've been rude not to. I'm up to page 23 now and I've read every
post and for the most part it's been really bloody funny.

I made pp13 or thereabouts. And laughed throughout, pretty much.

But I can't help thinking that the guy, dim lowlife scumbag though he
clearly is, has got rather more than his just desserts. People hang
themselves for far more trivial losses of reputation.

I still laughed though. A lot.

  9. I think it's deeply unpleasant; the pathetic one-upmanship of a baying
mob trying to repeatedly get one over on someone less intelligent than
themselves. I bet all those posters are thinking "Thank ****. While
we're all banding together to give him a good kicking, nobody's kicking
    me."

Nobody comes out of it looking very good.

Did you see the Wenkel (?) thread? That was quite funny too.

Am I the only one that doesn't find it funny?[1] I read the first 4
pages, and yes the guy got busted, but all the fanboys popping up to say
it's the funniest thing ever just gets tedious. It certainly doesn't seem
to deserve the publicity it's getting.

    What am I missing?

[1] And I laugh at nearly anything.

I didn't find it unpleasant, it just didn't amuse me. Given the responses
of others, I thought I was missing something. Each to their own, etc.

  20. No. I didn't find it remotely funny either.

An American view on life? Especially these days where it is important
to be seen not to be seen to be standing away the crowd
