  2. I found it mildly amusing to see him twist and turn as he deleted pics,
postings and other stuff as it got discovered, but funny, no.

Fwiw, I don't know the circumstances of his bust, but I'd be surprised
if the girl looked 15 and probably passed herself off, quite
deliberately, as 18 or older. So, for all the braying monkeys who piled
in on top of him, I sincerely hope they don't get caught out the way he
    did.

That would be just too cruel. And I'd find that funny.

  3. I always wondered why they didn't do that with something more
    interesting, like a howitzer.

It is fun. Currently on round 10, but only 61,300 as scenery
demolition has taken precedence, it seems.

Bah. Ran out of ammo on R13, with 114,400 points. Following the
spectacular success on R12, went back to bashing mountains after being
frustrated by the hovering chopper and banging two right down the
spout of the ICBM - but as it had retracted and the doors closed,
    didn't score a hit.

Ver' naice too. Welcome to the real world.

And yes, the boxes are fucking huge, aren't they? Make sure the folks
hang around for the de-boxing ceremony, as it can be a bit of a 'mare
getting the new toy out - and I'm not sure if LCD is the same as
plasma, but you musn't lay a plasma flat or it'll go fuckupski.
Transport upright, lift it out and shuffle it across to its new home,
all in the vertical if you please.

    PS. Richer Sounds rock.
What, that you're sucking Burnt's teef?

I always wondered who you were running those choppers in for.

Eh? You have a DVD player that *doesn't* do RGB over a SCART lead? Just
    how old is this thing?

S-video and scart both cann as can a bundle of seperate phono leads.

I run RGB over an s-video -> SCART lead for my DVD recorder, you could
probably get the same cable in the opposite direction...

Almost certainly this will be your RGB source.
Aye, true for most amps. I don't know any that do RGB switching, but with
the advent of HD, they might start introducing HDMI switching
SCART. I don't think ginge is right about s-video though, but I'm happy
to be proved wrong. AFAIK, TVs will only accept RGB through the SCART,
and older ones will only do it on AV1.

Did you go into the settings for the DVD player, and tell it what to
output on the SCART? My Pioneer has this ability.

I seem to recall mentioning this situation some time ago, when you
first started darsying about. This is why I bought a PS3 and a
(small) arsenal of Blu-Ray discs to go with it, and took on a cable
sub with a V+ box, to access HD programming (such as it is, it is
/most/ impressive and the kids are fascinated by Robin Hood and Dr Who
    on BBC HD).

I'm out of digital inputs on my Arcam amp, so I'm looking at a
HDMI-equipped replacement, likely the AV9, but I'll have to sell
something to get one. Several things, likely.

Gets damn expensive, damn quickly, this AV thing.

I'm really quite fond of my Arcam, except for the delay when switching
inputs. But other than that, it rocks. Especially through Kefs.

You've got the AV8/P7, right? Serious kit, that; I guess all you need
(hah!) is a new 'preamp', equipped with HDMI inputs - the AV9, or the
    fabled AV10.

Yes, I don't want to add up the overall cost of mine, but as it has
accumulated over a period of years it isn't so bad. However, my
'DAVE' equipped Alpha 10/P3/Alpha10 rig is of an earlier generation to
yours but was quite adequate until a few months ago. I can't justify
the cost of a decent preamp right now - what I need to do happen is to
be assisted off my bike again by a nice, well-insured blind driver ;-)
