Best way to clean calipers

    Hi all,

    It's the bad apple again!

After being off my bike for two years now my shoulder's mended as good as
it will. On Sunday I drove over to Whitby [1] and sat stuck in my Volvo
envious of the bikers heading over the moors.

Well that's kicked me in to action. This weekend I will give the Zephyr a
thorough going over to decide what work needs doing. I know it needs a
new exhaust [2] and the font calipers rebuilding as they suffered badly
the winter I had to commute each week from Bristol to Shipley. The
laquer and silver paint beneath has all bubbled and the weather's got in
an reacted with the alloy. I think they need a ground up rebuild and I
would like to repaint them too. So what's the best way of dealing with
them; stripping the old paint off and the like?

While we're on general cleaning. What is the recomended way of polishing
off heavy weathering? I have an angle grinder and so was going to invest
in a polishing mop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mel.

    [1] Sad old trad. me!
[2] Kawasaki's marvolous engineering means that the exhaust is held on by
allen *nuts*. Round things with an allen key half way through and
a thread through the rest. They are also made of cheese so I'm going
to have to be inventive to get them off.

Oh, mustn't grumble. I currently own 4 motorcycles, and most other things
can be tolerated. So, not too bad... ;o)

Ah, but do they work? I can claim two but neither of them are on the road
which makes them less than useful at the moment.
