Let's do that loop in a couple of months time Betty, but we'll swap
one of the Canberra-Cooma legs for a Canberra-Tharwa-Adaminaby one.
Rumour has it that you like dirt roads now? ;-)

Canberra-Cooma can be substituted with Canberra-Tharwa-Admaninaby-
    Cooma.

    Bungendore-Braidwood is better as Bungendore-Tarago-Funkytown-
    Braidwood. ;-)

Canberra-Yass for me is Gordon-Point Hut Crossing-Cotter Road-
    Brindabella Road-Mountain Creek Road[1]-Yass.

Yeah, right...... I'm a HUGE fan of dirt roads..... bwahahahaha!

Re a run to Khancoban when the weather's warmer, though - I think I'd be a
lot less nervous next time round on some of those alpine twisties - they
terrified me back in January, but I think I'm over a lot of that fear now.

Ooh, an ausmoto ride??? Bring it on!!! Just let's not plan it for the same
weekend that the Ducati Club does its annual Khancoban Ride!!!

About 1km after you cross the railway lines at the Melbourne end of
Bairnsdale there is at turnoff to the left which is signponsted to the
local airfield... marked as C106. If you take that road it hooks
around, through Bengwarden, then a few km before Stratford there's a
intersection and the C106 goes off to the left signposted to Sale... too
easy. On a bad day there might be half a dozen other vehicles using
    that 70km stretch of road.

Ahh.. a weekend ride to Khancoban. Sounds like a nice 2 day round trip
from Melbourne.. but I'm sure I can turn it into a 3.5 day trip like I
did last Nov :) Parted company with Marty, Glitch & co after breakfast
in Khancoban, they headed west, we headed east. The following afternoon
we passed them about 50km east Of Melbourne on the Healesville-Woori
Yallock Road... they were heading south.. we were heading north.. Those
bloody V-Strom riders have no sense of direction !!

That sounds like a Guzzi man talking.

Real rides have corners or sweeping bends, and lots of them.

So Nev..... I'm starting to feel a potential ausmoto Meeting Point Thingy
coming on....wheeeeeeeee, piss-up in Khancoban! hee hee hee.... Of course,
given your evil comments about V-Strom riders, I might have to rethink if I
have a Wee-Strom (with special shortarse seat) by then <grin>

OTOH, I already have no sense of direction - is it possible that having a
wee-Strom could correct that deficiency??? (it couldn't bloody make it
    WORSE, surely????)

Cooooeeeee BTH, are you seeing what I'm seeing? I reckon it could be good
fun if a bunch of us met up in Khancoban...It's kind of a 'central' spot for
a few ausmotians.... What do you reckon??? How about other ausmotians in the
    region? Could be a giggle!

Absolutely. I still have a clear mental image of meeting the Ducati
support semi-trailer on a bend near Cabramurra during one of their
"tours" a couple of years back. Not good fun.

    waiting???? (oh, slap my wrist!)

Buy a map and look at it, but don't look at the #1. You can get from
Merimbula to Melbourne (or Phillip Island) and about 99% of the trip is
off the Princes Hwy, some of the best roads in Victoria.

Considering the roads around Townsville it takes 2 days to get to a decent
riding road. Not any better here in Mackay either. :)

Minx and I will be going down to PI for the GP this year (well, just
the social side rather than the race). If you're going too maybe we
can have a convoy with Clem and whoever else?
