Must be a 3 bike MotoGP team, AND painted Yellow as in Camel Yellow!!
I wouldn't be surprised if he does unexpectedly well next year, in an interview he knew he wasn't on a Honda, Yam or Duc but said he wanted to keep racing and have some fun. If he really goes in with that attitude and doesn't have all the stress and burden of a full expective factory team on his back he just may bring a few surprises. Paul
Agree with that, Max has the runs on the board and is a proven performer 4 Times 250cc W/Champion & 13? GP Wins Max near beat doohan on the factory HRC with a private 500cc bike first year out Gives grief to Rossi and the only one who could run with him upfront Agree too that the pressure of riding the factory HRC bike this year got to him and really struggled. Now on a Kwaka they have only one way to go and thats up, if he can get his head around it and get it to suit him he can be up front, esp. with the Bridgestones they have some tracks where they are vastly superior and also in the wet Max is a rider that needs the bike to be 100% correct and he can win with that, his problem he cannot race a non-perfect bike like say God, i mean Rossi Cheers
T3 says: It's a little bit late, doncha think? The other teams are out testing already. Go fast. Take chances. Mike S.
It was supposed to be close, but Biaggi's $5M salary expectation is slowing things down now, according to Motociclismo. Biaggi fans, by the way, organizaed a major protest in front of Honda's Italian main office... Motociclismo has had a very interesting series were between Criville and Mamola they go test all the official machines, and then they're publishing sections out of Rossi's book, which by the way is pretty formulaic. He made a bit of a 180 on the earlier statement and the negotiations have been pretty public, according to Motociclismo. Then again, we'll have to just see where Biaggi winds up. Whatever it is, a contender for the title he no longer is; nor is Gibernau - in my opionion. The news will come from the younger guys' progression. And Rossi's change - he raced rally a few weeks ago and did great, scoring second behind the world champion, but ahead of great driver McRae... ....pablo
Indeed. Sure Biaggi's excuse act has become somewhat pathetic, but to try to ban one of the very best and most popular racers from the series is a vindictive and very unsavory power play. According to that Noyes article, the Japanese factories are trying to bring pesky, rebellious and independent team managers in line (which by the way runs contrary to your theory that they're just Japanese puppets). In a Motociclismo article he goes as far as claiming that to accomplish that Honda went as far as to near concede the world championship to Yamaha for a few years in a "Gentleman's agreement" type of thing popular among Japanese keiretsus. In any case, it comes to show the Japanese don't understand Marketing all that well. Trying to turn MotoGP into a predictable environment owned by a few factories... well, it'd sure mean a huge comeback for WSB over the next few years... and imagine someone like Biaggi decides to go to WSB right now to give the series a new infusion of legitimacy. He should consider that, perhaps. ....pablo
