We are well and truely being ripped off by the big four..

I'm currently over here touring around in Japan and one bike has
    amazed me.

It is the choi nori, a 49 KG and 49 cc scooter (that they are
selling from at least 2 suzuki dealers I have seen for
    41,000 yen ........

And that is 190 quid. brand new... possibly even a 1 year warrenty.

For a 4 stroke (so I was told) Suzuki motorbike..

If you Tap in choi nori into google, there is a good video to see of
    it.
    It goes like a rocket..

Most brand new bikes over here are 20 to 30% cheaper.

Nice 250 cc Kawazaki/Yamaha/Suzuki/Honda trail/commuter type bikes for
    1500 Quid.

A Kawazaki 1400 tourer was priced at under 7 grand.

It doesn't cost the difference in shipping costs and UK tax and duty.

UK dealers are taking the mick!!!

And I think the big four are squeezing as much cash out of us as they
    can.

If People in the UK are daft enough to pay the price they want, then
they will keep selling them at that price.

If they dont shift the units..... what are they going to do.????
Not sell the Motorbikes in the UK at all, or lower their price.

    They will lower their price..

Think about that if you want a new bike.

The 2008 Tokyo bike show is on soon..
I just may well go to it..
    While I'm here...

I bet its even bigger and better than the NEC.
Most of you lot, with your noses to the grindstone will never see a
    Tokyo bike show.
Far too busy making someone a load of money off your backs.

And they wont let you have more than a fortnight off at a time..
Never able to go anywhere for a month or more.
Never able to travel somewhere really distant.

What a restrictive life most people live..
    Year in, year out.
Keeping your bosses happy and rich.
    All at your expence.

    Heh.

I nearly posted a reply, actually, but I kept seeing a virtual "Do not
feed the trolls" sign poppping up, so hit the escape key just in time.

My Concise Oxford agrees with me.

Possibly mine is an older way of spelling it.

    You're a pedant.

Oh, sorry, you mean "Which is correct?"

Penguin English Dictionary: misspell, misspelling - no mention of misspelt.

    Usage & Abusage: misspellings.

Neither of these actually prove the case one way or the other.

My Concise Oxford Dictionary says misspelt. That's the Fourth Edition,
    mind, but updated in 1960.
