Me too. There was a programme a few years ago where that bloke who presents Grand Designs climbed various tall buildings. The one that really got me was Salisbury Cathedral. It was ok until he climbed out of a small door near the top of the spire. I suddenly realised I was clinging onto the chair for dear life. -- Malc R1100RS old and tatty You laugh at me because I am different I laugh at you because you are all the same
That's, er, pretty darn impressive. Especially the going back down bit. Did you see this http://www.break.com/index/world-record-speed-guitar.html on the same site? I'm no great fan of widdling, but even so, it's quite a feat. I bet he spent ages in his bedroom practising that one.
Do you think I'd be right in thinking he's very, very single? -- Veggie Dave http://www.iq18films.co.uk "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin." Cardinal Bellarmine
Bet he wouldn't enjoy doing that half as much on Evels bike though......... It was gobsmacking though.
Never mind that - given the proclivities of UKRM, I wonder you didn't like: http://www.break.com/index/girl-with-a-record-breaking-talent.html
Well that depends on your point of view. Ole EK just went for it I would guess. The really huge ones that he did were in my view just an accident waiting, very briefly, to happen. This current guy would be just daft if he did not take advantage of modern engineering tools in repect of the design of the ramps. In the seventies you would have needed a decent mathematician to sort it out but now I would think that it would be pretty straightforward for a lot more people since there are for sure computational tools. The bike is also much better. He did seem to have an exciting landing on the way down so maybe I am wrong about a lot of design having been done. F****** Amazing anyway. I remember now the Thrust SST book that Noble (?) wrote. They discovered during the design of Thrust SST that the (relatiively) cobbled together Thrust II (630mph ish) nearly killed the driver. It was really just luck that it did not take off at the front at top speed. They knew that they could not get away with guesswork for the SST and got in a proper designer and paid for proper aero engineering. Welcome to the 21 Century It was of course at that well known spot the Arc de Triomphe in Las Vagas
**** my old boots! Jeez, what shit commentary tho - "the weight of that motorcycle alone would terrify a normal human being"
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Cane It's not like if was a Blingmobile. Now *that* was a motorcycle whose weight terrified normal human beings. And Platy.
