Yep. I cover mine with a bit of aluminium tape. -- Krusty www.MuddyStuff.co.uk Off-Road Classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger 955i '96 Tiger '79 Fantic Hiro 250
No, 160/60 17 rear. The rubber monsters appear to have eaten half my sentence. Suppose I could. What's the tyre of choice for being squared off and used on a motorway?
There's an idea. Ta, I keep forgetting I have that bookmarked. I've created an account i'll have a read of the FAQ and do an intro later. Ooo I'm not sure I'm awake enough for text gibberish. PS Your old Honda is *lovely* but it's just not me.
A proper smile sweetly rather than the scary smile sweetly? Oh heck I'm not sure if I remember how to do that That would be an option but given elephant conditions I'm going to go with new I think, thoght thanks for the offer. I need to come over to see you to bring the books back. I'm not allowed to drive yet (which is getting really irritating) but there's no rush. You saw the pictures yes? A little bit of both. I love it because I ride it, whereas I sit on the Honda. I've priced up new fairings as well as the MOT essentials. Basically as soon as i can ride I'll take it for an MOT, get the fail cert and start working through.
I did. When it gets that bad, I'm not sure your tyres make much difference. I will await progress reports. Sadly, my much loved 1979 Morini 2C/375 has been temporarily cannibalised to create the "Forgotten Error". This has proved to be something of a disappointment, so I plan to rebuild the 2C again. Not interested in bulling it up though, as given its hybrid nature it will never gain favour from the purists. I just really love riding it (well I did in 2005/2006 when it was last on the road). -- +----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest * 2 Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 Morini 350 "Forgotten Error" | +----------------------------------------------------------------+
Conti Road Attack or Metzeler Z6. You can also get Michelin Pilot Road 2 in that size but they aren't cheap. 120/60 and 160/60 are SV sizes and those three are the current choice for sports touring on the SV forum.
That's what I do with the full race Akrapovic system on my CBR600 only I have a bit of insulting tape. Total waste of time because it's been noise tested at Oulton Park and is quieter than my daughter's 2 week old GSXR600 K8 which was noise tested there too. Mine was 97db, hers was 99db.
*DINGLY-DING* If LN thinks it's going to be 600 quid, it's bound to be more - it always is. This one is in black: http://search.ebay.co.uk/230289433807 Needs a bit of attention to tart it up but it's got to be a better starting poing than LN's, IWHT.
Indeed. I still think the best way forward is to buy a new-ish decent 600, like Suze did, then have it lowered by a professional suspension genius. All this throwing money at old bikes is a waste of time in the long run.
But LN likes the ZXR too much. Getting a decent one that will last a few more years would be the best compromise. Then she's only got to give a bit of TLC to make it last. Quite. I haven't had an old bike for 25 years and the oldest I've ever had was the nine and a bit year old 9R, but then I'd had that from new.
But it will be mine. Because I could go and buy the 5K unregistered one on the IOM if I wanted. It's not about the money, it is about that bike and its history. It's not about the money... And again I say...
