  1. Actually, no, it doesn't, really. That engine is hiked quite high iun
the chassis, and if you look at the front you'll see how high the
cylinders (and thus the crank) are mounted. An old airhead boxer has a
    much lower C of G.
Now the old Tiger is *definitely* top-heavy :)

A tad lardier, for starters. They're also a lot more expensive to
service according to my BMW specialist simply because of the amount of
plastic you have to remove. I was tempted by one but given the mileage I
do, paying loadsmoredosh every three months for a service wasn't it.

It was designed as a Goldwing competitor and that's pretty much what it
    is.

Penis substitute, plus they just don't like to admit that their level
of riding skill is more inclined towards an 800cc bike. Besides, BMW
owners are all cunts so there's no accounting for their tastes.

I'm considering buying a Shoei as it's coming up for replacement
anyway. The visors used to be cheaper as I sourced them in Germany, but
    then the exchange rate tanked...

    I've ridden an 1150. I prefer my tiger 955i, it's less of a handful.
It's not quite as focussed a tourer as say, a pan euro or an FJR1300,
but it's better for day to day use, especially in the wilds where I
live, and the roads are pretty shitty.

There's loads of choice in this class of bke, so don't get target
    fixation on the 1150GS.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Quite, but in fairness, the 800 bike is just a different machine & in
total honesty, a much better machine mile for mile. If you could do a
test without knowing what make of bike it was you would have a blast on
it. The 1200 is so obviously a BMW & a lot more money.

I would suggest they are both tried out. Give them both a right
hammering over the moors etc. I'll bet £100 he goes for the 800.
