Three & three quarter hours to get there because of some prostitute
murdering trucker that jacknifed his fucking lorry on the M1. I got to have
a pint with Cane, couldn't find Hog & after a quick look round I had to ****
off due to my rather poorly wife.

Another three & a half hours home.

    Happy days ;)

A couple of nice young ladies about, mostly fat fucking mingers that really
shouldn't wear thongs. Cellulite was the order of the day.

The F800R looks a nice bike & the new GSXR looks better than i expected.

    Maybe XL then.

That was the M42, it was shut Northbound as we passed on our way south, it
was a fucking mess. four or five trucks all over the place. As we went home
later, it was cleared, but you could smell beer as you went by.

Not a good week on the roads for me. Or them.

    Yep, good to meet up.

Had a good look at all the 2009 litre bikes. Particularly liked the 10R
although on close inspection is seemed a bit plasticy. The GSXR K9
wasn't on show but the K8 felt solid. The new blade still feels a bit
too small but I was pleasently surprised at how solid the new R1 felt.

Test rides organised, will report back soon.

Other than that there was plenty to see. There are many more retail
stands than usual so I picked up a few bargains but the overall show
seemed a little smaller. The show in the stunt arean is the same
embarrassing, theatrical farce as last year. Good job it's free.

I'm beginning to feel that the February show at Excell is going to take
over as a better all round event in both size and interest but I'll
    save judgement until then.

Oh, and the Victory stand is worth a look purely from a wft perspective.

Oh dear. The Excel show IMO is shite - just a load of retail stands
mainly, and last time I went, hardly any discounts etc at all.

Do they still do the Ally Pally show?

I haven't really paid any attention to what next year's R1 looks like,
but have you heard what it sounds like?

No but the exhausts did strike me as rather bulbous at the rear making
a set of panniers tricky to secure.

    What does it sound like?

Well, you _are_ in England. Thick ankles and cellulite are sort of the
    norm there ...

Any specs yet for the new gixxer?
Doesn't seem to be anything on the Suzuki website yet.

Which raises an interesting question: well I think so. Sprotsbikes
often are claimed to be based on racing bike technology. Sometimes
also they're engineered to sound like another bike: the TRX for
    example.

So: has any manufacturer ever produced a four cylinder 'big bang'
    sound-alike for the road?

The new R1 does sound rather similar to the YZR-M1 and all the marketing
spiel suggests it's meant to be a copy of such.
