Awwww, thanks fellas, I'm all blushing and stuff... <betty busies herself
getting beers and pulls witches hat down low to hide embarrassment.>

Have had a lovely day, despite being at work!

Back home on the farm when we were kids it was customary for the other
brothers to catch the birthday boy and dump him in the prickle patch,
one "dump" for each year of his birthday. When our sister came along
she wasn't treated ay differently, and was in fact dumped in the
    prickles for her first birthday.
I guess it would be ill mannered to ask how many times you would have
been dumped in the prickles, Betty?

This is, ahem, a Significant Birthday <chortle>. Crikey, George, I'm glad
that prickle-dumping isn't a tradition in MY family, or I would have to
start lying about my age, hee hee!

"21, betty? But weren't you 21 LAST year? Come to think of it, haven't you
    been 21 since 1980?"

Today I've heard it said several times that 50 is the new 30, so I suppose I
would've been dumped in the prickles 30 times ;-)

Thanks Theo! I still feel like a spring chicken, apart from the odd moment
with my knees, ha ha. Oh, and the arthritic shoulders. And the recently
acquired "weather arse" - from the hamstring injury - and "weather foot" -
from the willy willy injury. Bwahahahaha, what a life I'm having!

So - really and truly retired, Theo? How is it? Are you bored, or are you
    busier than ever???

A bit confusing so far. I've not been bored so far. Got some serious
tree pruning done the first week but was a bit hampered by my gall
bladder removal four weeks ago. Now fully functonal again. Spent three
days this week with my dad, pulling the engine out of his 1927 Model
    T. Participated today in bottling 176 x 500 ml bottles of beer with my
neighbour. Got visitors coming tomorrow. Have to sepnd an hour at my
past employment on Monday to get the BAS done, Should be the last
time. Follow up appointment with my surgeon on Friday. Following
Tuesday to Melbourne to pick up a car, will probably be there for
three weeks or so. After that, the woodwork beckons. Then, the old
Merc needs a lot of work. Then, .....
