(Not sure where you have to register - but here you go)

The below article was posted to the Lake Cities Sun newspaper in
Texas. What do you think of it?

Feel free to send the editor, business manager and publisher a polite,
well spoken note with your calm and reasoned opinions about this call
    to action about motorcyclists.

(I especially liked the part about "fair game")

  3. My response was not kind and it was long. It was filled with so much bull I
couldn't believe it. I copied his boss on the letter and sent link to Texas
DPS and DOT for reference material. I also attacked another issue he had.
His deal on strayhorn was complete bull. I've not seen such a complete
ignorant pieces in a while now (I'm talking newpaper editors not
newsgroups). He didn't do any research and made the most outlandish
statements. I don't care how you feel about the candidates, just don't
outright lie about it. OK I do care, but still, if you know the facts and
still feel that way, then thats the way it is. Just don't lie about it.
    I wish I could have remembered point #2, I just remember 1 and 3. I know
point 2 was also wrong, they just pulled the article before I could gather
    his misstatements.
I did ask them how much Perry paid for his performance. After all he
basically told everyone that you are wasting your vote if you don't vote for
Perry, even after he admitted he didn't like Perry.

  4. Just wanted everyone to be updated on this.

Got this from a friend who created a website dedicated to making the Lake
Cities Sun newspaper aware of our issue. He was getting emails from all over
    the world on this issue.

On Wednesday, April 4th I received a call notifying me that Mr. Doug Simpson
is no longer employed by the Lake Cities Sun.

We would like to thank all of you for your support. We at D&M CycleWorld
will continue to monitor local Bike-related issues and fight for YOUR right
    to ride.

Thanks for the calls, e-mails, and letters of support. I'm overwhelmed at
the nationwide (and International) support we've received during this
    campaign against irresponsible journalism.

Until next time, ride safe.and RIDE FREE !!!!!

Well if Doug didn't hate motorcycles before, I'm sure he does now. It wasn't
our intention to get him fired, but we wanted some type of rebuttal or
apology. The newspaper refused to do either, so I guess they took the next
step and let him go. Right now they are pleading for the motorcycle
community to stop with the emails, they are being overloaded.

Elmer, thanks for the update. Just goes to show that letters can have an
effect but I would have liked to have seen a written apology from Mr.
Simpson before he left, with the damage of his words already done.
