I've received (after waiting nearly 2 months due to crappy postage) my
    MD80:

    http://www.digimartz.com/md80-dc-mini-dv-dvr-sports-video-camera-spy-cam_p332.html

The video quality is absolutely amazing for a camera the size of a fat
matchbox. I attached it to the bike this morn' with a cable tie and
this is the resulting video (well parts of the video and youtube loses
    on quality conversion slightly)

(you may want to knock this
up to the 480 pixel setting)

I'm gobsmacked with the quality for such a small piece of kit. Ta for
    the recommendation.

Not a bad bit of photoshoppery, that, but I could tell you hardly got
above walking pace. Not only that, but your wind is very noisy and
    your chain's fucked.
Stunning, considering you tied the cam to your right boot. No, really,
the video quality is surprisingly good for such a tiny unit. One
assumes the cam is fairly robust, too.

To sum up: great video quality, filtering needs work.

Nah, that's the front brake pads. I've just changed them and they're
    squeaking for some bloody reason.
Heheh, it was cable tied to the mushroom on the bike.
I would use a rude word, but I agree that today's ride into work was
not one of my best today.

Initially, in your case, I would have been tempted to use a rude word
too, but then I suppose if you're prepared to post a video of your
riding to ukrm you've also got to be prepared to take some criticism.

What was wrong with it, anyway?

Of course, but I would have used a rude word, 'cos it's Pip. :)

You're quite right though. If you can't take the flak from UKRM, then
    don't post.
Dunno, it just didn't feel good. I suppose that part of it was that I
was continually looking to see if the cam was still there and hadn't
    fallen off. :)

  7. Should we post the URL to someone in the Gendarmerie? After all,
there can't be _that_ many people in Paris calling themselves "Rosbif".

I must have blinked at the wrong moment because I saw no signs of any
wheelies and there's no way any self respecting individual would have
a camera on his bike and not loft the front wheel.

This is why I never fit a camera to my bikes.

'tis dirt cheap for sure. However I've now been spoilt by a GoPro Hero
HD. I haven't even tried full HD yet, 720p is pretty darn good. I may
put a bit up on yoo-toob, but there won't be any wheelies.

I really think so. From the stamp, it looks like it was sent on the
20th June and there's a French sticker with the La Poste logo dated
26th June. I reckon it was lost somewhere...
Worth the money, although the buttons take getting used to, as I've got
    big fingers.

Did you end up with a proper MD80 - Alloy Case / Slidy Buttons, or one
of the cheap eBay copies like me that has a Plastic Case / Push
    Buttons.
