Bikes To Try

Hmm a week in Japan and I'm all about changes (Tokyo rocks BTW)

As I just mentioned I'm considering changing the Fazer. It's an
excellent bike but I never really liked the riding position and it
doesn't set the pulse racing. I thought it would be better for my daily
motorway commute (30 ish miles) than a full chat sports bike but I'm not
convinced it would be that uncomfortable.

I've been and sorted a test ride on a Triumph Sprint ST for this week
but I think it might be too much of a "tourer" as well and the lead time
on them is months. I'm also sorting a test ride on an SV1000 but I think
that might be too thirsty and a GSXR-750. I'm considering a thou as
well. Streetbike also have a couple of nice 2nd handers including a very
clean '03 R1 which would be nice if it wasn't so blinged up!

SO is just laughing at me as I said I would keep this one for 2 years
but at least she's okay about me changing my mind again.

Any other thoughts. I did consider an old model 'blade but they seem to
be thin on the ground at the moment.

 

depends on what you mean by "old model". My Y-reg '01 CBR-929-RR1 is
for sale...

(Might be a bit older than I had thought originally but it never hurts
to consider all the possibilities).

if it helps, it's a blue/white/yellow one, just under 12K miles (but
it's had it's 12K service), Blue Flame carbon/kevlar end can (plus
original), double-bubble screen, not crashed.

It needs MOTed, but I'm getting that sorted soon.

 

Okay well that has given me something else to consider and I will do
just that. I've got a lot of thinking to do over the next couple of weeks.

In the mean time if you get a better offer, take it.
