For anyone interested in an observed ride then there will be a number of
events based at Abergavenny Bus Station in the coming months.

I went on foot, with one of the "looked after lads" I work with, yesterday.
A quiet day with few punters out & about. Post rugby hangovers, I suspect.

What was interesting was a conversation with a plod about these:

Apparently after having some bikes on loan, Gwent are ordering a shed load
of FJRs. Evidently, as most of their gubbins fits in the existing profile,
with much of the electronics in the seat unit, they do not get any high
speed issues. All of their new wobblyPans have been sent back to Chiswick
and have probably been Niged out.

It was quite surreal seeing a number of ratty, old ST1100 Pans, probably
coming to the end of their service life and several shiny new Yamahas.
There were a couple of new BMWs, on loan from BMW but most plod felt they
had little chance of securing orders.

As this was the first one, there were a number of suits there, having
photos taken with blinged up council officials. The traffic plod themselves
were very approachable and getting rather bored without any punters.
