According to an ABC news story a couple of years ago"
"The BioBike uses a Yanmar L48AE diesel engine fitted to a Husaberg frame."

...so I'll let someone else say 'the big bit below the fuel tank' :)

  3. My expert eye says it's a Yanmar air-cooled diesel. The sticker on the
    tank also helped.

A quick search of Yanmar products suggests that it's not a current model
    but probably somewhere around 10-15bhp.

    Cheers,

    Ahh; thanks folks.
    From Yanmar:
    MODEL
Cyl Cooling Continuous Rating (hp @ rpm)

    L48AE 1 Air
    RPM HP
    2200 2.70
    2400 2.88

    2600 3.24
    2800 3.60
    3000 3.78
    3300 4.05
    3600 4.32

So 4.32 Hp max on Diesel (I'd expect less on Pauline-Hanson-
    Juice)......
    That'd be pretty tough-going when there's a road-train up your
    clacker!
    Bring on the blower.

There are a few interesting examples - interesting perhaps in the Chinese
    sense - at http://www.dieselbike.net/SchoolandUniversityprojects.htm,
including some pics of bike(s) from Adelaide Uni. Oh, and
http://www.dieselbike.net/yanmar.htm. Love the John Deere and Zebee will
possibly (not) appreciate the Guzzi conversion :)

Oh, and for Clem there is a BMW conversion as well. Yuk, albeit reasonably
    well done.

    Cheers

Yep; as far as I'm aware the KLR-based Yank military bike has been the best
of the non-turbo diesels so far.

OK; that says the Adelaide Uni bike is using the 9hp LA100 engine. That
    sounds a bit more attractive!

As for that webpage; the Guzzi looks good (for my weird-arsed values of
"good") and the BM looks good but the MZ is the winner!
If you're gonna' be weird you may as well be as weird-as-you-can-be!!
