Bird Strike

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Rufus T Firefly, Jul 9, 2009.

  1. This is the first day in ages that I have ridden the 9R into work and
about 5 miles after leaving home a pigeon flew across the road and
smashed into my screen. Its a bit broken now and it looks like I will
need some new UKRM stickers for the replacement screen. Cane, do you
    have any in stock?

He even left me some feathers and a dusty inprint on the screen.

Hmmm... yep, that's broken. Has it cracked the fairing plastic near the
mirror, or is that just a reflection?
And I'll bet he wasn't insured, either. Something ought to be done!

I was about to offer you the spare screen that I had lying around in the
garage, but I think I gave it away with my 9R when I sold it. I'll check
    tonight to make sure.

  3. Its a reflection of the little chaps feathers. I took the photo on my
phone so its not the best.
Thanks very much Eddie. I have the standard screen which i can put
back on but it really needs a Double Bubble. If you have one of those
that would be great, for a donation to you of course.

Ah, sorry: the DB was definitely on the bike, and I've convinced myself
that I gave the buyer the standard screen.

Proof, if proof were needed that Duct/ Gaffer tape really can fix
    anything.

  8. Yes, the feathers are staying as a warning to other birds.
    Mmmm, Duck soup. Delicious.

Dans ce pays-ci, il est bon de tuer de temps en temps un amiral pour
    encourager les autres.
    it really is. Good recipe:

I have a few 9R bits left over after I replaced some bits donated by
Andy Broadhurst. don't suppose you want them for spares?

stuff like rear footrests, grab rails, new air filter, and prolly a
    few other bits.

  19. I don't really need any of those right now (the air filter would be
useful soon) but what condition are the bits and how much? Thanks for
    the offer.

  20. Hey there, not bad at all. It's another bike day for me and the sun is
shining so it's all good. A friend of mine went to Blandford last
night to have a go at the UK (mountain) bike park. Have you been
    there?
How is your new office with those fantastic views?
