Yeah, same here. I do actually have a clear one with me today, despite
me just going to work & back during the hours of daylight. I guess we
could get a really bad storm at 5pm.

Back when, when I first needed glasses for driving, I never bothered on
the bike until it got a bit too bad that I really couldn't see properly.

I really couldn't (and still can't) get on with glasses inside the lid,
so I moved to using contact lenses & tinted visor.

Since my commute is entirely through town, worst case is I ride with the
    visor open.

You must have really upset her if she started flinging shit at you like
    a deranged chimpanzee.

Did you have The Book Of Crap Jokes 1978 handy?

Q: What do you do if a bird shits on car?
    A: Dump her.

Don't Plod operate checkpoints there? I've experienced the Leeds lot stop
an entire group and check exhausts/plates/visors/tyres.

I've a pair of polarized lenses which are great for riding. Set in an
ultralight Flexon frame which doesn't cause any problems.

Even if they did, the only thing they'd catch me on is the visor - a
dark visor has a justifiable purpose, unlike a dodgy plate, exhaust or
    tyres.

    So I'm not exactly worried.

We had that on an MV group ride once in mid-south Wales. I avoided it
by overtaking a lorry at exactly the right time to stop plod waving me
into the layby, but the rest got pulled & anyone with a small plate or
loud exhaust was given a rectification notice.

I've seen it happen in the past at Box Hill.

Are you living in an understairs cupboard? it doesn't seem to be at all
    uncommon.

  13. I loved this feature on the Laser Revolution, but the lid itself was a
bit clunky, as lift up lids tend to be. I guess that's the trade off,
between light, quiet and illegal visor (like my Uvex Wing RS) or
heavier, noiser and clunkier but with added convenience factors.

My clear Shoei visor has "Daytime Use Only" stamped on it. I also
have a medium tint one, which is enough to take aware glare but not
enough to make me look any more of a twat and attract Plod attention.

I wear glasses with my Arai, although it took a lot of shopping around
to find one that was comfy. Can't remember the model but it's the
Crafar rep so that dates it a bit. Judging by the way the pull down chin
guard disintegrated on my recent commute I should probably look at
    changing it.

I have no choice but to wear specs when riding and I've never had a
    problem doing so.

I stopped wearing sunglasses under a clear visor when I had a bang on
the head and the impact was transferred to the bridge of my nose by my
Oakley frames when a lesser set of specs would have simply bent or
    fallen apart.

I really don't get what the fuss is about with putting specs under a lid
though. They might wobble about a bit if you've got the wrong specs but
other than that it's no different to wearing them without a lid.

Would I be correct in guessing visors block UV and Transition lenses will
    not work?

Google just revealed Transhades wich are both polarized and photochromatic

I found some helmets pressed the legs against my head and made it
uncomfortable, the Arai seemed to have slightly more room.

I'm not a big one for sunglasses (only ever use them in the car, and
then not very often) so I've never bothered with a tinted visors.

  20. That was my experience.
If they are polarized, they will not lighten to anything like clear,
unless the technology changed in the last year or so.

I have one pair of photochromic that are my all day every day glasses
and a pair of polarized prescriptions that sit in the car where my
    photochromic won't darken.

I'm hoping that by my next eye test, my prescription will have changed
enough that I can get daily disposable lenses again.
