What I cannot understand is starting the auction at £500 with an £8k reserve
    which you reveal.
Why didn't you start it at £8k with no reserve? not that it is going to
sell on ebay at this sort of money.

If maximising the return was your aim then you should not have run up a
single mile and taken it in a van or trailer.

What you probably underestimate is how tiny the market in the UK is for this
bike. I have the cash and am minded to buy an 08 sprotbike. I would want to
buy from my local dealer and keep up a decent relationship with them. If a
dealer or Cane is willing to give you £7250 in cash tomorrow bite their hand
off. Cash is king. What you have today is a fast depreciating lump.

<g> Not at all. It's just that the stated intention conforms neither
with my understanding of the use of a reserve or of Ebay's rules.

Wot 'e sed. It's a 'free' 7,250 that you weren't expecting, so take the
cash & blow it on a couple of weeks in the Maldives, or a boob job for
your wife, or something else equally flippant. Even if you made another
500 quid on Ebay, the fees & time spent dealing with utter tossers
    won't be worth it.

I thought I might at least try ebay, see what happens.
If I get any bidders at all then great, if it does not make my reserve
then I suspect I might just sell it to whoever bids the highest if they
    still want it.

On that Biketrader site there are year old Blade's still making in excess
    of 8k for some reason.

Whatever, in a couple of weeks I will be the ex owner of a blade.

Who fancies a little auction wrecking on Alan's bike?
Is there anyone here that wants to help me push the final price up to
    £100,000?
I dread to think what his fees will be on that.

Argh. Super- large font and commas all over the place. Can you
    construct a sentence?

At least it isn't in garish blue and red capitals, I suppose.

I stand corrected, asking, but as there are quite a few I would guess
perhaps the selling price was around the asking price?

ITYWF that they do not sell at all. The market is awash with sellers,
particularly the "this is my price if I don't get it I will keep it (sulk)"
    kind.

Reset your start price at (say) £6000 with a hidden £7250 reserve and see
    what happens.

Of course the first few buyers might not come through with the dough.....

Sell it to Cane FFS so we can all ride it.

The actual bike probably looks exactly like the Fireblade in the auction
pics, but nothing like a VFR.
