    Indeed. I confess to being a little unclear on the role of 'EU
    president' and what it entails, but I'd hope it wouldn't involve any
    executive decision-making if he's going to get the job.

    When was it decided that the EU would have another President. The
    Commission and the Parliament already have Presidents, how fucking many do
    we need.

    At least people would have heard of Blair. How many people on the street do
    you think have heard of Pöttering. I doubt that many more have heard of
    Barroso.
