Zero is zero. It's easily measurable, being zero.
There has been a legally enforcible Zero BAC limit for probationary
drivers in Victoria (and I suspect many other places) for over 20 years
    now.
yes it would. Don't drive if youre affected by alcohol.
zero sounds arbitrary. 0.05 sounds arbitrary. 0.08 sounds arbitrary.
In fact just about every 'limit' in the road rules is an arbitrary number.
LOL funny stuff. Scientifically and medically proven eh !!!

I wonder how many motorcyclists, having gone through a speed
camera with their hand over their rear plate (that sounds
like BS for starters), ended up splattered a bit further up
the road? I'm guessing the number would be able to be
counted on the fingers of a retired sawmillers hand.

The real issue here is "we aren't earning enough revenue of
    motorcyclists, something must be done".

Anyone who thinks speed cameras aren't revenue raisers,
should look at the placement of the recently vandalised
speed camera on the toowoomba range. Was it put on the down
section which has seen over a dozen fatalities and countless
serious incidents in the last decade? of course not - it was
put in the 90km/hr zone (which until recently was 100), on
the up section - in the one short stretch where the road
levels off. I've lived in the region for almost 4 decades
and once again, the number of serious incidents on the up
section could be counted on the same sawmillers hand.

IF you're right, It'd make a good item in the local newspaper, and
fairly easy to research: create a diagram of the road showing fatal
crashes per 10km stretch of road and overlay the placement of
cameras. 'Everybody knows' the cameras are to generate revenue... but
only a c**t wouldn't put up cameras at the death spots first.

Or it may mean that the earlier .08 limit was as low as they needed to
go and .05 didn't help anyn further...

The victorian zero BAC limit is actually measured at 0.02 (for a variety
    of reasons) Nev.

Yeah they've replaced a lot of the old 54 signs with A2
signs. It's still called the Warrego Hwy tho.

That's good news. Please link to the legislation which defines zero as 0.02

How the police deal with the results of a prelimiary breath test (which
is not an admissible measurement) it is their own business.

In 2001 an amendment to the Road Safety Act 1986 removed a potential
anomoly of BAC readings to include the third and subsequent decimal
    places in enforcible readings.

I didn't say "defined as", I said measured as.
And the business of the person who's being measured and who's reading is
    at or below 0.02.
I'm not sure how that's relevant to what I mentioned.

To be fair; I don't thing *we* (the people) ever did. It were only the
    Pollies and other barrow-pushers.
