The lad's first hill climb today. Well twisty sprint really at Margam
    Park near Port Talbot.

He thoroughly enjoyed himself and his big wheel YZ85 with supermoto
Excel rims was going very well. Most impressed that he didn't just go
banzai off on the first run and drop it. In fact he improved by 10
seconds over the day and got within 6 seconds of my best time on the SO
YZ250. An ear to ear grin was soon fixed in place. At this rate I'll
have to watch out for him catching me when he moves up to a 125.

Quite pleased with my times and getting down to a gnat's cock over 48
seconds on my first visit there, despite the YZ front brake still
binding like buggery. It's a bit of a pain to start though and being a
twisty sprint there is no hill to roll back down for a bump start after
each run so I was knackered after 5 runs.

I think I can fairly say that he is tired but happy.

  3. Sounds like a blast. I must get out to a hillclimb locally.

He isn't allowed to do Prescott or any of the other big meetings but
    I'll keep you posted.

    In communiqué <1jgtq99.1qj954j1evwc97N%>,
Quite. Though it has to be said that the Port Talbot MCRC seem a very
friendly bunch and even let an old gimmer go last in his batch towards
the end of the day so that he didn't have to struggle to start his bike
again to come back down[1] the course.

[1] If it had actually been *down* I would have been OK.
