Thanks so much to the bits of UKRM who helped me so much through the
sticky bits of it. I can ride everything again, and finally buy a car.

Excellent, then you can drive said car up here and collect the Snap-On
box you paid for about 18 months ago :)

Lol, I'd come to the conclusion inside my own head that having given up
on that transaction in my post licence depression you'd have resold it
to get rid of the fricking thing. I'd kind of written the cash off, but
if you still have it and won't charge me punitive storage fees I'll come
grab it as soon as I've scored a car. Volvo V40s are cheap enough, but
**** me if the insurance hasn't gone a bit silly since I last had a SOC.

I need something big enough to fit a drumkit in, with a degree of snow
friendliness if anyone's offloading anything non-bomblike btw.

    Way to go Lass.

    Well done.

I'm really glad you got there, No mean feat that, but you beat the
    bastards. :)

Well done and congrats. Pop by sometime for a brew/bevvy and Barbie.
You're welcome to stay over, and friend.

You paid me money for it, therefore it's yours and it stays here until
you collect it. I knew you'd been unwell and had transport problems so
I wasn't fussed about hassling you to come collect it before - I
wouldn't dream of selling it on once you'd handed over readies.

Thankyou sir, it would be great to drop by and see you and yours
certainly. It's just a pain in the arse that the licence came back so
shortly AFTER the silverstone trackday, I really wanted to do that but
got scared off by needing to lie about licencing.

Fool that I am, I'm contemplating another pug 306, the last one which
was shit all use was a petrol, and it was only ever the engine bits that
croaked. I'm gonna go look at a blue diesel one in the morning, so I
could be capable of carrying a tin box by next weekend. Thanks so much
for your tolerance. It's been a shitty few months for certain.

I had a Pug 306 diesel for a short time. It was a company car and I'd
given back a Picasso I loved to change jobs and ended up with the Pug -
I hated it, but only because the Picasso was so good. In all honesty it
was probably an ok car but I didn't give it a chance to prove itself
before they fired me after 6 weeks... the cunts.

I had a 306 XSI for a couple of years. It was a brilliant car. Pissed
oil everywhere, the clutch was a wooden block, the brakes were like lead
(albeit with a lot of feel) and it did about 20mpg on a good day. But it
was an absolute hoot to drive on the right road.

Lying wouldn't really have been an option, unless you had a physical
copy of your licence to show at sign-on.

After that, **** knows. No scrutineering for bikes or kit, just an open
garage, a couple of stickers and a day of hooliganism.

That's my memory of the meridian petrol, couldn't keep fluids in it, but
    'wheeeeeeeeee'.
Am I making a horrid mistake though? I'm TOLD the diesels are solid.

I had that, but I can't lie with a straight face.
    There'll be others.

Sorry, I only do "goading people into buying inappropriate bikes". If
you're looking for sensible car-buying advice, I'm really not your man.

PS. You want a nice little Seat Leon. Preferably the Cupra. Works for
    me, anyway.

No doubt. I'm going to be a bit strapped for time this year but next
summer I fully intend to spend a fortune throwing my bike into gravel at
the finest circuits this and other countries have to offer.

    Considered offroading?

Drop Bonwick a line. He's the officially nominated [1] DFV for our off-
    road days.

[1] Last to step back, etc.

Seriously? It's a VW Golf / Audi A3 under another name. Family
    hatchback, albeit with a turbo.

We're close to having enough of us going to be able to ask if they'll
put on an extra day just for us so once I've got my work calender sorted
I'll get on the phone then send out the emails.
