Yeah, I just clocked your pictures. Same as my pal's and a bit of a pig to
do. You have my commiserations. Now do as someone else said and get a
Snottoiler. Your chain is more minging that Katie fucking Price.
    Yours is plenty bad enough.

If it's the same as the Z750 then yeah, you do have to take rather
more bits off than one would normally expect - though I manged to pull
the battery out of Lisa's Z without actually injuring myself.

That's one of the reasons I got the paddock stand. Granted a scottoiler
    is much more convenient...

In my defence, m'lud, that pic was just before I stuck it on the
paddock stand and liberally oiled the chain.

  9. A bit ill today but other than that we're both doing pretty good after
    a fairly crap 2009.

    Erm:

    1. I've got an alarm fitted onto mine.
    2. To get to the battery, I first remove the rear seat, then the front
seat, then a metal bracket to reach the battery. What year Z1000 are
    you talking about?

As for the battery, I'll need to figure out some way of seating the
connectors of the battery cable so that I can still insert the battery
    afterwards.

Is the lug on the solenoid any easier to get at?

The negative lead can be bolted on pretty much anywhere.

Let's hope 2010 looks up for you both.
Urm, correct me if I'm wrong, but is this _still_ in need of slight
    attention?

**** me, sort out the attributes, newbie.

Good idea. Too late though, as I've got it sorted at last.

    Mea Culpa.
I had a fairly unique vision of you being attacked with a very large bottle
    of pills.

Unless you really like restoring SOB, which involves warm garages or
converted living rooms, sling it on eBay. The weight it takes off the mind
shouldn't be underestimated. Dealing with issues of corrosion and paint
isn't much fun. Then use the free cash to get something more rewarding.

Ah I remember now it's *that* bike. Yes it would be nice to restore it.

I always wanted an airbrush, something capable of doing a tank size job. I
wonder if all the new EU regs have made the traditional paint and thinners
    unobtainable.

They're brilliant. My chain looks almost brand new and so do the sprockets
and it's not because I'm averse to leathering the bike. Close on 20000 miles
and I can see no reason to even think about replacing them.

Probably the best addition I've ever made to a bike.

Createx for airbrushes. So long s you use their own brand thinners, it's
almost unbeatable. Badger used to make their own airbrush paints, (THE best)
but these days it's easier to find rocking horse shit.

Or you can use HoK paints if you like dropping shit loads of money.

Machine Mart have a nice line in "silent" airbrush compressors which are
exorbitantly priced. And airbrushes have dropped a lot in price over the
last few years. What you'd once expect to pay 2 or 3 hunded quid for can now
be got for less than 50.
