Do they really bounce back, or do they never go? If they bounce back, what
do the bounces say (which server bounced it back)?

If it didn't go, I suspect the SMTP gateway setting is wrong (smtp.demon.co.uk
    instead of .net perhaps).

If it really bounced back, I suspect the Demon SMTP gateway is bouncing it
because it doesn't believe you are a demon customer. ADSL or dialup (you
are dialling up to Demon aren't you - have to check). SMTP AUTH password
    or POP3 before SMTP required?

Better cut and paste all the things you've typed into the spaces (except
passwords) then, so we can see where you've cocked it up. I find the spelling
mistakes, extra "."s etc are usually blatantly obvious to everyone else looking
    for the first time.

Does their SMTP server require auth?

Will it accept mail with a from: address not ending *demon.co.uk?

Help, this is driving up the bloody wall.

My faithful old PC went titsup when I got back from Amsterdam, necessitating
    a reload of windows.

Since setting up Outlook Express [1] I can receive emails on my Demon
account, but can't send them, they just bounce back.

I have double checked all the settings and they all seem okay, as are the
    settings in AVG and Mailwasher.

Any ideas, it's pissing me right off.

    [1] Yes, I know.

Yes, that's exactly what the bounce message says.

What the **** do I need to do?

I am on Demon ADSL, and have set up Outlook Express as per the instructions

    It's very odd.

The email address in your FROM box is not a demon address. Try
putting it as your demon address, and the reply-to field as that
address you would like mail sent to.

Make sure you don't mix demon.net up with demon.com, .co.uk or the
like. I'm not going to be much more help on this as I'm not ad emon
    customer.
