    Hi folks.

Well Sydney has had fairly bloody wet weather for the last week or so,
and, this morning, it was pissing it down, but, I was desperate, so I
goes out to the garage and puts on the wet weather gear, and heads off
    for a wee ride.

Two hundred metres down the road, the sun breaks through, and, of
course, I hadn't bothered with the sunnies! :-(

Went up the old road, met up with some mates, etc...

On return, I am soaking in sweat in the wet weather gear.

Gets home, parks bike in garage, and shortly there after, it recommences
    pissing it down.

As` far as I am concerned, summer is very over rated, and autumn can
start any time it wants. :-|

    regards,
    CrazyCam

  2. Tomorrow is supposed to be even worse with the remains of the recent cyclone
that hit QLD working it way down the coast.
Meanwhile, I did the washing and had to rush to bring it back in when it started
    raining again.
    Yes, the sooner the better.

Inlaw near Doug (townsville) was saying the whole family have the dengy
lurg and a foot of water under the house with little chance of seeing
the lawn for another week... that would wear very thin after a day or two.

Yeah, we've had a few dry days lately. First since new year. Just got
the lawn done today and it bucketed down tonight.

Mum's yard is still a bit of a swamp, much mould around her house. Both
Trumps have mould on the seats and grips...

When the sun does come out, you become a steamed dim sim...

  7. When I moved to Sydderknee in 1987 it was one of the wettest years
there had been. I was living in Chatswood and working in French's
Forest. (About a 40 min ride for you non-Sydders). It got to the point
where I was putting on wet weather gear to ride to work every day
regardless of whether the sky was bright blue and sunny. I just got
sick of having to pull over and get the wets out of my backpack.

And you lot take the piss out of Tasmanian weather. I didn't even have
wets til I moved to the mainland . . .

Things have changed since those heady days Kev'. Now that
motorcycles come with second (and in come cases even third)
gears, that trip takes about 5-10 minutes!

  9. I don't recall '87 being particularly wet but I remember in '88 it rained every
weekend for the first 6 months of the year.

Chatswood to French's Forest should only take 5 to 10 minutes.
Sometimes it rains, sometimes it doesn't.

  15. My dictionary says labour. Labor is the American spelling.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Labor_Party

"The ALP adopted the formal name "Australian Labour Party" in 1908, but
changed the spelling to "Labor" in 1912. While it is standard practice
in Australian English both today and at the time to spell the word
labour with a "u", the party was influenced by the United States labor
movement and a prominent figure in the early history of the party, the
North American-born King O'Malley, was successful in having the spelling
"modernised". The change also made it easier to distinguish references
to the party from the labour movement in general. Furthermore, the
spelling "labor" had been acceptable in both British and Australian
    English in earlier periods."

Note also, Hells Angels is spelt without an apostrophe and Megadeth has
    only one 'a'.

The name of the party is Labor, your dictionary is irrelevant.
