Bluetoof headsets

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Mungo \Two Sheds\ Toadfoot, Oct 31, 2006.

  1. Do all bluetooth headsets work with all bluetooth phones or do I need one
    specific to my SE K700i?

  2. Basic ones should all be compatible; I'm told that more complex
multi-functional ones tend to be make-specific but I have no problem
using my Nokia HS-36W headset, for example, with my SE K800i.

Every one I've tried with my Nokias has worked with them so unless Sony
Ericsson have done summat daft I think they should.

Nah, it should work. Mind you, it's always an idea to make sure you
have the latest version of s/w on the phone. That helped me, when I had
    a K700i.

Mine works with both nokia and SE phones, but requires less hassle with
    the SE stuff.

They all make you look like a wannabe cyborg. Is that what you really
    want?

  7. Only for the car - it's a pain using a wired hands-free.

  8. Thanks. I've never even looked to see if there's a software upgrade
    available. I'll investigate...

You should be able to do it via the SE website (if you have a docking
station or the USB cable) and assuming that it's not a branded phone.

    3_1_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10139&fid=21839&esi=true

Otherwise there are plenty of cheapie sites [1] that'll allow you to
upgrade. They can bit a bit harrowing (as in scare the shite out of you
when you think you've buggered it up), but they eventually work. When I
had a K700i, the first upgrade got rid of the branding and improved
battey life. A later upgrade improved bluetooth connectivity.

[1] I can't remember the one I used, as it's so long ago. Sorry.

  10. Unlocked now. Was O2.
Right then. Off to find myself a dodgy Russian phone site. The battery life
    could do with improving...

    These work pretty well:

I don't use the sun visor clip or suction cup mounts.

They're light weight so two strips of velcro hook stuck to the back
holds it to the headlining of any car I happen to be using.

I've heard that if you pop to your local market, that there's likely to
be someone there that can do it for you.

Oh, BTW, I found the site: http://www.davinciteam.com/

You'll need to get the cable and download their s/w. After that, you
buy a credit for the u/g and follow the instructions in the s/w. This
is the general gist of how it works, but has probably improved since I
    used it, many moons ago.

  15. I got it unlocked at the market a while back. I'll seek him out again and
    see what he says.
    Ta. I'll have a furkle.
