Any of you guys gonna have a crack at the Beemer Club Icicle Ride this
year? I might. It's one of those things that you have to do at least once,
    I reckon...

I honestly don't know... I did my first and second one on my R65 and I
haven't had that since sometimes early in the 90's (I think that's when
    I got rid of it).

Those ones left from the servo near the westgate bridge, it's all a bit
long ago sorry to remember much :)

    From the BMWMCCV web page

"Midnight Saturday, 19 July ’till dawn, Sunday, 20 July ’08
Departing from BP Service Station, Lyndhurst cnr Dandenong-Hastings Rd
    & Thompsons Rd, Melway ref 128 K8
Self navigate from issued instructions, or join a led group for a
    leisurely ride(!)
Early registration*: $25 per rider, $20 pillion
On the night registration: $30 per rider, $25 pillion "

You have to do it at least once! And if, like G-S, you can't remember
just how much "fun" it was, then its obviously time to have another go
    at it.

Not only that, but if enough people turn up and claim they are with
the aus.moto club then this venerable on-line institution will win the
biggest attending club award (BMW club not eligable), as some will
    remember (but probably not G-S).

(yes I'm with the club, but may not make it myself)

I've done the icicle ride the last 3 years running Steve and I averaged
about every other year since the ones I can't remember :)
Netrider have won it several times, aus.moto haven't (and I doubt there
are enough melbourne aus.moto people to even go close!).
ahh... still remember how much 'fun' it is eh ;-)

Weeelll, its more like "know your limits".
3am in the freezing cold and very dark countryside is not a good place
    to find them ;-)

out of our jackets it was so bloody warm.
