having problem with petrol pump not starting when engine turned
on,tested pump straight to battery working ok,hoping thats the way u
test it ,checked fuses, relays, bike turning fine no petrol, reaching
sparks, before i buy new pump does it seem its a wiring problem,or the
    pump,clocks fine,battery fine ,earth cleaned checked,just happened
after a bout of backfiring the night before ,then pump wouldnt kick
in,is there anything else i should look for,not sidestand switch was
already disconnected, before i start to go in to the wiring loom, any
    help would be grateful thanks

Sounds like an earthing problem, or a dry joint within the ignition switch.

have you checked the connector from the fuel pump / fuel guage sender. It
connects from the fuel tank (rear base) to the wiring harness on the left
hand side (under the side cover). The pins get loose in the connector over
    time.

    cheers,
