Looking for Tyre recommendations for a BMW R100GSPD, to be used as a all
roads tourer (trying to stay off the major highways to avoid uniformed tax
    collectors).

Metz Tourance, Pirelli MT90 Scorpions, Michelin Anakees, the new (is it here
    yet?) Dunlop D607,
all dual-purpose tyres. From personal experience I'd stay away from anything
    Bridgstone.
Metz Enduro4 have a rep of sliding in the wet on the big chookies (fine for
    the Peg and F650).
    Metz Enduro3 for more dirt.
    cheers

Thanks for that, I will stay away from the Metzler's sliding in the wet is
only a good look when water skiing.

The Tourance is fine, just had 5000km on a set of fresh ones on the V-Strom,
love 'em even more than on the Peg.
Then again, the OEM Trailwings were a piece of sh*t.
The new Dunlop has got some rave reviews (on Tiger, Capo, Dero), don't know
if it's in the country yet, though.

Dunlop Tyres have introduced the new Trailmax D607, a unique tyre designed
for the increasing number of trail bike riders who use their machines
    on-road.

Inspired by the highly successful Dunlop KR444 wet weather race tyre the new
Trailmax D607 has a tread pattern that offers greater handling precision and
grip in both wet and dry conditions.

With fitments to suit the best selling trail bikes on the market, such as
the BMW R1150GS and F650 Funduro, Honda XL 600V Transalp and NX 650
Dominator, the Suzuki XF650 Freewind and Yamaha XTZ750 Super Tenere, Dunlop
are confident that their new tyre will quickly be established as a favourite
choice for riders seeking improved stability, grip and handling.

Steve Male, Motorcycle Manager at Dunlop said: "The Dunlop Trailmax D607
really does set new standards in this sector. Dunlop's 'Single Radius
Concept' is an integral part of this tyre's design, and this reduces changes
to the contact patch area and steering geometry at different camber angles.
As a result, riders enjoy lighter, more progressive steering response and
    improved cornering ability"

The new tread compounds use SSBR (Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber)
polymers similar to those used in racing compounds. This enhances the grip
    and extends the tyre's life.

"The Dunlop Trailmax D607 uses race bred technology to offer reassuring
safety, handling and improved mileage and durability on tarmac" added Steve.

Tourance's are reputed to be good in the wet. I highsided in the dry with
them on the bike, and I wasn't even trying.
