BMW supply exceeds demand

It seems that BMW have succumbed to the Japanese disease and imported more
    bikes than they can sell.

A year ago anyone wanting a new 1200GS had to pay list price and wait 3-4
months. Today, a mate went into the Bristol dealer and was offered a bike
at £1k off list price from stock. You can also get a K1200R for under £8k,
    £1400 off list price.

Explains the recent plummet in R-GS residuals somewhat.

I think people might be getting the message and spending their hard
    earnt on proper motorcycles.

Hmmm, these have a pre-reg K1200R at 8495 but I'm concerned over the
text that goes with it: "The law of the road call for tough riders. The
    K 1200 R. Respect!"

Still, I'm not seriously in the market for a while (awaiting some
funds) although buying now would almost certainly secure a better offer.

Heh. Hideous looking thing in that yellow too. 164bhp in a naked bike
    should be fun though...
I'm sure SLM would haggle on that price: I bet BMW have a warehouse full
of the ugly fuckers. Buy it on an interest free credit card...

I think I could live with this colour

True. I actually like the look of the half-faired R Sport but that's
not out until April next year.

The 'R' is ugly, that's for sure. At least the rider can't see just
how ugly from the riding seat though.
Yeah, nice. I like the dark grey too.

    [K1200R]

It's a shame it's a yellow one. They seem to be a lot cheaper than the
    silver & grey ones.
It is, but the looks have started to grow on me.

    Err, guilty.
I know it is. It's a tad worrying on my part, I can tell you.
