Sheared the exhaust stud on the ex-Nige VTR, despite me giving it some
welly with plus gas and a propane torch prior to trying to undo it.

Since the head was off, I could get down through it with the pillar
drill, plus gassed it again, then drilled a piece of flat bar, slipped
this over the remains of the stud, masked the head and stick welded it
to the stud with the arc welder.

Well bugger me, it budged a treat after that.

Nice one Andy, that was your trick/suggestion from a while back.

    Paul.

I have already made the greatest contribution to the fight against climate
change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

Nope, I figured the fecker was in for good once i'd had the blowlamp
on it (the nut, not even the stud) for 10 minutes.
Well, I would have used a left hooker, but I hadn't welded anything
    for a while ...
