A while back someone made a post regarding boots and a few people suggested
a place in North Fitzroy (Victoria) that made boots. I got the impression
that these were the go by resposes though don't recall the name of the place
or where they are. Anyone know?

    TIA

I think the old fella's only working a couple of days a week now
    though.

AFAIK, he closed down the shop, but then his wife relented and has let
him continue to work out of their garage (apparently he wouldn't have
got anything for his machines, being so old).

    160 Gertrude St Fitzroy 3065 VIC, (03) 9419 4374... interesting, the
white pages still lists Gertrude St, perhaps he is still there.

My boots are on order (long ones, zip inside) though they wont be ready
until January some time. They seem to be going strong. They were happy when
I mentioned that a lot of people from around the country recomend their
boots and when I repeated a storey I have heard about an owner caliming to
have had their boots for 15 years they told me a storey of a customer who
came back after 30 years. Something went wrong with the zip!

BTW the guy who is running the shop out the front is named Peter and is the
    couples son.

Once again thanks to all those who replied.

Mine would be 14 years old and 2 resoles. They're looking a little
shabby these days so when I heard they were closing down, I bought
another pair. I still haven't worn the new pair, there's probably
another 2-3 years left in the old ones. I should probably break in the
new ones so I can wear them to 'respectable' events (rallies and stuff)
