    Anyone used these?

    Alternatives?

Looking for something without a zip - I break zips.
Thought I'd solved it by getting a pair with an internal lace
    fastening.
Managed to break that too, eventually!
    Clumsy, me... ;o)

Thanks for that - I'll check them out.

Got to rise to the challenge of "ultimate hamfisted pillock, though".

Wait till you see the Blackbird...

TCX used to be called Oxtar and they make very good boots.

Daytonas are good too, mine are well over 6 years old and done about
70,000 miles now, they still don't leak and the zips are perfect. I've
recently bought some Oxtar Goretex race boots and they are wonderfully
    made too.

Daytonas can also be refurbished. I sent mine back after 4 years for a
    refit which cost £100.

<confused> But which ones? Daytona have a large product line.

I've got 3 pairs of Daytonas: the first set, now needing refurbishment are
Highways. These are good winter/spring boots. A bit warm for summer use.
For summer use I bought a pair of Nonstop GTX. These are fine, despite
being one of the cheapest boots in the range. Finally, I have a pair of
Rainbow GTX. I wore these on my recent trip and they were excellent in
heavy rain and very hot conditions. My feet got a bit cold when riding at
2500m. They are very good when riding in jeans and dead comfy when
    wandering around off the bike.
