it's not possible for a pair of MX boots to shrink, is it?

My feet must have got bigger - I can't get them on now without a fair
    amount of discomfort.

Oh well, I fancy some retail therapy at the weekend anyway.

heh. My feet don't *look* any bigger or differently shaped, but I
think they've got a little wider. It's not a problem in any other shoes
or boots, I think it's because the MX boots are quite narrow, and
completely ridged - there's no give in the material at all. My race-
style boots (both are the same stated size, and made by SIDI) still
fit fine, though they're very tired looking now (they're about 9 years
    old).

I'll probably replace them both with some supermoto boots instead.

Nip into Boots (no pun intended :) ) and get a bottle of surgical spirit.

Using a cloth, thoroughly soak the leather with the surgical spirit and wear
the boots for a while. They're stretch a treat. I had some shoes that were
similarly tight and some sidi race boots, once soaked in surgical spirit
they fit like a glove .. erm boot :)

    what leather?

These are SIDI Top Action Evo's - they're entirely made from plastic
    and metal.

I've had the same problem since the leg injury last year.

The inflammation around my knee seemed to gravitate to my foot. I couldn't
fasten the laces on my trainers for about 2 weeks. It seems my foot has not
shrunk back to its original size as a) I had to buy a new pair of wide fit
shoes for my new job and b) I can't get the one pair of Daytona boots on.
Fortunately, I have a 2nd pair of Daytonas acquired for £60 last Spring,
from some idiot who ordered a pair from a .de website. They were too small
for him but are nicely baggy on me.

Perhaps there's a time lag, slow gravity or something. Hmmm, losing 10 lbs,
only wish I could or rather wish I could and it would stay off.

those are TAEFlex boots - mine are the older TAE (non flex) ones. The
shoe part is definitely completely solid, though there's a bit of soft
    leather inside at the top.
