I remember doing something similar last year, but closer to the date.
Anyway, the long-range forecast for Derby for BoSM dates this year are
    as follows.

    Saturday 8th April

    Day: Rain

    Max: 10c (4c RealFeel)
    Winds: East @ 21mph (Gusts @ 39mph)
    UV level: 1
    Thunderstorm probability: 0%
    Amount of Precipitation: 1.8mm
    Hours of Precipitation: 10 (mostly @ 12pm & 6pm)
    Arthritis index: 3

    Night: Mainly cloudy

    Min: 2c (-4c RealFeel)
    Winds: East North East @ 15mph (Gusts @ 25mph)
    Thunderstorm probability: 0%
    Amount of Precipitation: 0mm
    Hours of Precipitation: 0
    Arthritis index: 1

    Sunday 9th April

    Day: Sunny

    Max: 11c (7c RealFeel)
Winds: East North East @ 19mph (Gusts @ 40 mph)
    UV Level: 4
    Thunderstorm Probability: 0%
    Amount of Precipitation: 0mm
    Hours of Precipitation 0
    Arthritis Index (0-10) 0

Long range forecasts are always a bit shit, however.

I'll just stay at home and go to the pub round the corner instead.

Well, I shall be making sandcastles in the desert as I await the start
    of my race.

Though to be honest, at this moment in time I'm thinking that I'd much
rather be getting drunk with you lot in the pouring rain in Derbyshire
than about to race across the Sahara.

Well, let's face it they are both endurace events of a sort ;-)

Anyway, if anyone feels so inclined to send me a 'supportive' message
during the event you can send these through the French organisers
website www.darbaroud.com. I'll post a note of my running number, etc
    nearer the time.

<fx: goes off to look for sunscreen, sunglasses...belly dancing
    outfit...>

You're running across the Sahara? That's quite impressive, mad as a box of
    frogs mind, but still impressive.

let me get this right - you're going to enter a 230Km running race, in
    the desert?

    You're fucking looney toons.

Thanks for asking, i'd really wanted to arrange some sponsorship for
this, but honestly just haven't had the time to sort it out. I'd hoped
to raise money for the NABD, so if anyone here wants to send them a
little something on my behalf - feel free, I'm sure they'd appreciate
    it.

But mainly this is a personal challenge, I guess I just wanted to see if
    I could do it.

I'm racing 100km across Wales on a bicycle on that day. Dunno which
    is worse.

  18. For once, I couldn't agree more with you. Except I think you understated
    it slightly.
