    Looks that way.
The weather. There's a thing - you don't watch much television do
you? There's a good chance that the Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations
will be cancelled due to the weather on NYE, see, and there's a Met
Office warning concerning "damaging storms" and "80mph winds".

I might well have come out, I don't mind a bit of wintry stuff - but
riding in sub-10 degrees in the pissing rain with three parts of a
gale coming across me isn't something I do for fun, mate.
    And to you, Owen.

Your monstrously bad handle on grammar is all the compensation I'll
    ever need. Freak!

My 7R's got no engine (or wheels, or wiring, or swingarm...) and my CG's
got no MOT (iirc) and apparently runs like a dog. And it's cold and wet.
    And I'll be on call.

But other than that, I'll be there, dude.

Have you still got the clocks and fairing bracket? A mate of mine
locally was knocked off by a hit and run driver and is looking for a
    source of cheap parts.

Seen the forecast and my "must do things around the house" list...
Won't be botafotting tommorrow then... :-(

The clocks were in a thousand and one pieces, and the h-frame looked
like an Alexander Calder mobile by the time I got it back. The cockpit
was the worst-damaged part of the whole bike.

    Remaining bits are, roughly:

    indicators
    swingarm
    frame & logbook
    engine (condition unknown)
    carbs
    wheels, discs, spindles, etc
forks (need to check they're straight) and yokes
    carbon hugger
    cdi, fusebox, etc

and a few assorted bits and bobs I took off ages ago but haven't yet
    punted.

OK, ta. I'll pass that on but I am under the impression that the
cocckpit took the brunt of the damage on his too. He has got frame
damage[1], how much are you after for yours?

[1] Dented where handlebar caught it.

Excellent, thanks. I'll try and get a list of what he desperately needs
    and get back to you.

Only roads for me, don't have a decent MB (only a cheap one).
I went out and over the Zeelandbrug - straight into the teeth of a force
5/6 and no protection from the wind. First half out took me 70 mins, so
    not even 20km/h average.
36 mins for the return, mind :)
