Anyone up for it tomorrow?
Given the choice of sitting in a power station and being paid close on £500 for doing it or risking my licence riding through a load of 50mph limits at speeds I really shouldn't I'll take the cash.
Meh. Did my own 'FOF yesterd -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) 116 Giulietta 3.0l Sprint 1.7 GTV TS GT 3.2 V6 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk
I don't see much difference - it was 60 limits before and we ignored them - what's a 10mph difference? OTOH, I'd take the guaranteed 500 quid for the power station option.
Ah. I just took the dog for his morning constitutional, and when I knelt down to disentangle him from his lead, I found out how much my knees hurt. I spent some time over the past couple of days hopefully de-leaking the garage roof(1), see and I knew it would hurt, but I'm fucked, I realise now. All very easy sitting here typing, but there's no way I can ride a bike today. Arse! Don't let this stop you, though - or stop you floating the idea next week, or any time in the future. 1. Corrugated asbestos sheets - old, furry, cracked in places, previously 'repaired' several times and spryed with expanding foam underneath so it's impossible to see where the water is coming in from. Last winter it was dripping off the beam next to the light fitting for weeks, and it hasn't been dry enough to do anything about it until now. The roof obviously won't hold my weight, and I've done my time falling through asbestos roofs when I was ten stones lighter than I am now. The only way I could see to get at the middle of the roof to apply brushloads of thick black gunk, was to slide a long ladder across it, supported by the parapet walls to the sides, then edge my way across it on hands and knees dragging the tin of gunk behind me. Several hours of kneeling on ladder rungs have left their mark on my knees and back, it seems. More than anticipated, I must be getting old.
Hmm, and apparently I resemble a burns victim courtesy of yesterday's red wine, full sun interface, and it 's sore as hell. Ho hum, mentally I was there. Maybe next week then
Y. T. C. As was I, but there no way I'm sticking my knees in a 100+ gale with hard bits being thrown at them. Mebbe
Champ escribió: Yebbut, 60 isn't a posted limit as such - rather implied. The fact that they've gone to the bother of imposong an abnormal limit kind of suggests that they might try and enforce it. That and I suppose the extra 10mph over might mean the difference between losing your licence and not. But given that we used to all be regularly well over the ton(tonne?) along there, I suppose it's neither here nor there.
The likelyhood of plod intervention rises by a factor of about 100 when they drop the limit. I did and it was fucking scorching so I sat in the shade by a smoke hut and chilled out all afternoon. The best bit is that on this site we get paid an extra hour as a bonus because of the shit conditions so I had a couple of pints in a pub garden while I was still on the clock.
