I now own a Transalp, one with full Krauser luggage :)

    £600, deal done...

It rides bloody superb, slight issue with the choke & back brake needs
    adjusting.

    Winter, here I come.

You sounded as if you'd made your mind up about it in your earlier
posts but I thought you didn't like camping?

Not to worry, it's only a couple of nights in a tent and the rest were
either on a boat or in a hotel.

Had a good look at the exhaust, it's really very solid, but for £40 or so, i
might as well get the Y piece fitted.

This has been used & has a bloody wallet full of docs with mega history,
    brand new tyres & chain.

  7. If it's that one some optimist was trying to sell for close to a grand,
    you did well.

    I did indeed!

To be fair, it's really quite charming.

The cholke needs a bit of fettling, but other than that it's sweet!

TransAlps are cracking bikes. Day long comfy, handle really well in a laugh
a minute squishy kind of way.

For the exhaust, if it does cause any issues, can I recommend Iron Horse on
Gelderd Road in Leeds, next to Charlie Browns. Top bunch of people and
despite the name, they aren't upside-downy heads.

It's a nice old bus to cart me around over winter, i don't like not
riding over winter, but i'm not into ruining good bikes.

It's worth more in bits than i paid for it, by quite a margin to be
honest. I bet i could sell the full Krauser stuff for near on £350
    including rack & two panniers.

It would have been going to the bike show today if work hadn't got in
    the way.

  16. Yes. One twist of the wrist and it magics its charging system away.

  17. So is the big northern jessie man enough to do a winter rally, or is he
    short of holiday... ?

  19. £250, certainly.

Problem is that the pool of Transalp buyers is fairly small. So whoever
buys it would have to budget for a different fitting kit.

the pictures from the Ebay auction have been removed from the host site,
but IIRC they are red, which will limit their desireability greatly.
