OK, just had to replace the front pads on the ZZR11. They managed about
5500 miles before they were trashed, but to be fair to them, they did
stop the bike very very well compared to the previous 2 ZZR11's brakes.

Is this excessive in anyone elses opinion?

I`ve just had the front pads replaced on the 9R at 12K - then again I
    hardly ever brake!

Actually it even sounds excessive to me (who brakes a lot more) I
changed the pads on the ZRX around 11K. It's a similar weight bike to
the ZZR so I'd guess should wear at a similar rate.

  5. Sounds it....

OE pads lasted 9,000 miles (18 months) in the Divvie.

OE pads have been in the Ducati since new (six years/22,000 miles) and
    are about two-thirds worn.

A bit of indirect reasoning this - but - Its maybe not excessive in Lloyd
    Cooper's .........

At the zx6 's 4,000 mile service as I was mumbling away about what gets done
and could we dispense with fripperies like oil to keep the cost down please,
and they said yadder, yadder, copperslip the guides and check the pads too
in case they need replacing and ... At which I pipe up 'ang on. Replacing?
At 4,000 miles? And they said more or less, yeah its not the norm but its a
long way from being unusual, its all down to how you ride. Well, it would
    be really.
    But anyway, there you are.
You are neither uncommon nor unusual.
At least so far as brake wear goes.
Having people's fingers glued to your head is another issue entirely.

  7. It's one of those bikes where you don't use the brakes very often.....

I dunno, when pushing it home I often have to use the brake to steady
    the bike on slopes )
