Someone once said the same to me and I took them at their word and went to a BoSM. None of the fuckers made a pass at me, but by the Christ, a few got drunk. It inspired me to go to the next oSM just to see if the ones who got pissed were only trying to impress me. They weren't though, they're too good at it for that. Good, those oSM things -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
Perhaps Prince Harry would like to list the benefits 'their country' will gain from the invasion, brief (inneffective) occupation, and evacuation from Iraq?
No there isn't. The only thing I know about SciFi is that my mate married this bird. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suanne_Braun We've had her round for Sunday lunch. She's ever so nice.
I didn't think so, because people HAVE and still DO join up because there's little else for them to choose. There are a few old phrases which still ring true to this day, like "Jail or the Army" and "Dole or the Army". Lots of friends of mine joined up in the 60's and early 70's because there was **** all work to be had and some of them were slipping into petty crime. A few choice slaps from plod made them realise they'd better do SOMETHING, or they'd be doing time, so the alternative was joining up. It's not unusual at all. even these days, although the entrance "exams" are probably a little more exacting than they were. I don't even think Champ's comment was insulting, let alone cynical. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
So no changes there then? When was the Army soldier ever well paid, well looked after and sent to Butlin's rather than to war? -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
There is, if you know where to find it. Blimey. You lucky dog. She was great as Hathor, very nice piece of acting. And she is rather easy on the eye, too. Ali
That dear old chap, Eddie tugged on his pipefull of old shag and said: I guess the electrons take a while to get up north.
That dear old chap, Champ tugged on his pipefull of old shag and said: Bwaahahahahaha (Don't tell anyone but I cut and paste it from your posting - but keep that as our little secret)...
That dear old chap, Eddie tugged on his pipefull of old shag and said: How is the music hall act coming on?
****, I don't like to think how many I've got[1]. They're not all in regular use, but surely no-one throws away shoes that are still wearable? I buy one, maybe two pairs a year, but I don't think I've thrown any out for, oooh, err, actually, I'm not sure I can remember... [1] Sadly, it has made me think, and it's certainly a lot more than 13. Closer to 30, I suspect. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. <snort> Told you it was a crap picture. Yellow trousers, black top, blonde hair. And one hell of a hangover. This was the closing ceremony on Monday morning, and I'd grabbed the first clothing that came to hand. Ali
