than just bumping into a few at Avebury, but they always seem to clash
with either a prior engagement or total apathy.

and probably living fairly close too, so maybe I'll get to the Avebury
meet one day.

 

I don't take him at all seriously. In fact, whereas there are a few
here people who've directed their venom at me and for whom I still have
a modicum of respect, Blaney just strikes me as a caricature of the
insecure 'lad' who thinks that personal worth comes from how much money
he makes and how good-looking 'his' girlfriend or wife is.

You'll see guys walking along holding their bint's hand or with arm
around their shoulder. I'm willing to bet good dosh that Blaney walks
along with his thumbs hooked into his jeans, and his bint has her arm
laced into his. She's not a person to him; she's a status symbol. Just
like his job. Just like his 'globetrotting'. Just like the expensive
toys he buys himself.

It must be hell to be him.
